I tend to lean more towards natural editing, colorful surrounding and outfits and bold light with natural glow. It’s important to me that we show and reflect the connection between you, your partner, and your child(ren). With child-led interactions (‘cuz if you know, you know), we will capture all the silly, sweet, and everything in-between. No stiff posing here. We will focus on storytelling, lifestyle, and documentary photos that you and your future generations can cherish forever.

Oh mama.. don’t you fret. Not only is this not as important as you think.. but remember that things can be moved and things will become ‘messy anyway’. Ok, easy enough to say. But really. This is what this is all about. The REAL life you. That being said.. we can move things around as we go. If there is a big pile of clothes on the floor, let’s move it (even during the session, no biggie!). Or better yet, LET’S JUMP IN IT! Just kidding.. kinda :-P Anyway, I promise, no one looking at the crumbs under the couch or the lollipop stuck on the rug. If we notice it later, I’ll remove it if I have to. Or we can embrace it. I promise I’m not gonna throw you into the wolves of Marie Kondo. We got this. All I ask is maybe just pick up before I arrive so we can move around and open those windows for the pretty light and let’s play!

After a decade being a photographer of children, a mother to twin tweens and a toddler, I have somehow kept all my hair and my patience when learning to work with kiddos who are not quite sure of what to think. This is why I believe that in-home sessions are the best. Once you put them in an enviroment that is familiar and safe, you’ll start to notice how your child(ren) will blossom. Along with activities - to distract - and bribery (if you’re into that).. aka.. toys, candy, bubbles, and mess! Kids will eventually forget that I’m even that interesting and will play along.

In-home sessions are typically around 2 hours. But if your kiddo(s) are having just too much fun, we can always play around with the time. I’m not too worried about that part. Outdoors is a little different. Only because the sun is so picky. But usually 1-2 hours is the length we need before the sun goes down for the day.

YES! You get to hand select every. single. image. Of course, I’m here to help if you are in a pickle and can’t finalize your selections - because I know that part can be hard! When you select your package that includes the amount of images you want, and you want just one or two more - ish, you’ll be able to add al-a-carte, too! So you’ll never have to wonder if you got all the images you want.

Yes, of course! I invite all the creatures (unless it’s spiders.. I don’t do well with those). Of course, only friendly pups and sweet kitties (is that such a thing? kidding. kidding.) are allowed.

Just like many previous sessions you may have experienced, yes. I do guide you so we can get a great family portrait. I know that that is an important piece of creating memories. Seeing smiles and having a portrait on the wall to showcase those missing teeth. Even though there will be gentle posing, just know, that there will be plenty of candid and storytelling imagry to be had.

This is subjective. We will chat about your vision first, then build on what time of day your family is most active, awake, and energetic. Of course the sun has a say in this too. Where does the light come in and what time of day. What activities do we want to do and in what rooms. Most families book mornings and mid/early afternoons for indoor sessions. Outdoor sessions are geared more towards the end of the day, during the 1-2 hours prior to sunset. But again, this is dependent on location as well. Thank you mountains!

Getting started is simple. Reach out through the contact link on the top of the website and we will set up a call—I’ll send you a questionnaire to fill out so that I can know all the nitty-gritty and details about your family so we can create THE perfect session. I’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

Proof galleries are typically sent out within a few days of your session. This way the excitement of the day is not lost and you get to see all the BEST images! Once your favorites are selected, I’ll go in and edit and fine tune all the details. Final galleries are sent out within 3 weeks after your favorites gallery is sent to me.

During our over-the-phone consultation, I will be discussing this with you. It can be one of the hardest (next to booking) to accomplish. I hate to say this, but families (aka, mom) always describe how this part is so hard. I’m here to help. I will never leave ou hanging. Depending on the type of session you’re looking to do, we can build your outfits for the scene. In-home being more cozy and YOU, outdoor, coordinating with the season and scenery. We will build this part together.

Newborns are tricky. They always seem to know when they’re getting their photos taken. Anyway.. try your best to schedule your in-home newborn session before baby is born. That way the planning can be less stressful. We try very hard to make sure that your session is completely within the first month of your bundle being born. That way they still look new!
