Those early days with a new baby are tender, blurry, emotional, and impossibly sacred. The quiet feeding in the middle of the night. The way tiny fingers curl around yours. The way the whole house feels softer somehow. My in-home newborn sessions are about preserving that feeling — gently and honestly — right where your story is unfolding.
I come to you, because this season deserves ease.
Before your session, we’ll talk about how you’re feeling, what this transition has been like, and what you hope to remember most from these early days. I’ll help you thoughtfully plan outfits that feel soft, cohesive, and natural within your home. Think comfortable fabrics, neutral or earthy tones, and pieces that allow you to hold and move with your baby freely. Nothing stiff. Nothing forced. Just harmony and warmth.
These sessions are slow and unhurried. We follow your baby’s rhythm — feeding breaks, diaper changes, soothing, rocking. There is no pressure for perfection. Babies don’t need to “perform.” Toddlers don’t need to sit still. Everything unfolds naturally.
If there’s a sibling involved, we let them lead in their own way. Maybe they cuddle up next to you on the couch. Maybe they peek into the bassinet. Maybe they want to show me their favorite toy before joining in. We create gentle moments of connection — sitting together on the bed, reading a book while baby rests nearby, piling close under blankets, or having mom and dad wrap everyone in a quiet embrace. Even playful moments — tickles, laughter, bouncing on the bed — become part of the story of welcoming someone new.
We might photograph you swaying by the window with your baby. Dad tracing tiny toes. Big sister brushing baby’s hair. The nursery you lovingly prepared. The kitchen where you now reheat your coffee three times. These are not just images of a newborn — they are the beginning of a new chapter for your entire family.
My role is to gently guide while protecting the authenticity of the moment. I’ll offer prompts to bring closeness and natural interaction, but I’m always watching for the in-between: the way you instinctively kiss your baby’s head, the way your older child leans into you when they’re unsure, the way everyone fits together now.
You don’t need a spotless home. You don’t need to feel “put together.” You just need to show up as you are in this season — tired, in love, adjusting, overwhelmed, grateful. It’s all part of the story.
Years from now, when your baby is no longer tiny in your arms, these images will remind you of how it felt — the softness, the closeness, the newness of it all. Not posed perfection. Real beginnings. Real connection. The beautiful unfolding of your growing family.
