There’s something magical about stepping outside together — the open air, the golden light, the way children instantly feel free. My outdoor family sessions are built around movement, connection, and preserving your story in a setting that feels expansive and alive.
We begin by dreaming it up together.
Before your session, we’ll talk about your family — your energy, your children’s personalities, what this season feels like, and the vision you want to preserve. From there, we thoughtfully choose a location that fits your story. Maybe it’s an open field at golden hour, a quiet mountain overlook, a winding trail, tall grasses, or a place that already holds meaning for you.
I also help you build your outfits so everything feels cohesive and harmonious with the landscape. We’ll consider tones that complement nature — soft neutrals, earthy greens, warm textures, flowing fabrics that move beautifully in the breeze. The goal is not to match perfectly, but to feel balanced and natural within your surroundings. When you feel comfortable and confident, connection flows effortlessly.
Once we arrive, the session unfolds gently and organically. We don’t stand stiffly and smile at the camera the entire time. Instead, we move. You walk hand in hand. You scoop your children up. You twirl. You cuddle close. You laugh when someone trips over tall grass. Children run freely, explore, and interact the way they naturally would.
We may play simple games, race to a tree, spin in circles, or have everyone pile together in a big hug. I offer prompts that encourage closeness — whispers, tickles, dancing, storytelling — but I’m always watching for the unscripted in-between moments. The way your child reaches for your hand. The way you brush hair from their face. The way everyone leans into each other when the wind picks up.
